Eating Rabbits

Is rabbit the new chicken?
They're quieter and less smelly than chickens, make healthier meat, can be fed on kitchen scraps, are easier to slaughter (no squawking or plucking) and they reproduce like...hmm... well, they reproduce really fast.

Jeness once postulated that the tastiness of an animal is directly proportional to its cuteness. Accordingly, she joked that it was one of her life goals to try what surely must be the world's most delicious creature:
the sugar glider.

Maybe rabbits can tide us over.

Just in time for Easter!

  1. Yes, I can confirm that bunnies are really easy to skin, AND freaking delicious! But I'm having a hard time convincing my hubby, who really wants chickens.

  2. They're small, just get both! That's the best thing about experimenting with small animal ag - whenever you get bored you can just break down the coop and eat the stock.

  3. I can kill a chicken, I'm not sure I could kill a bunny.

  4. Well, maybe not a cute baby cottontail but I bet there are meat rabbit varieties that are big and mangy like jackrabbits. Maybe that would help?

  5. I know you don't know me... but! there are giant rabbit farms where giant bunnies are raised specifically for consumption. Some of them are as big as a mid-sized dog.
I tried to attach a picture... but to no avail.

    Here's the link anyways
