My garden's been pretty slow this year with all the rain and 40F nights we've been having, but the lettuce mix is finally big/crowded enough to start thinning it out. Hopefully a sunny weekend will bring about a growth spurt all around.
ha! my boss postulated today that our absurdly cool summer may be due to that Alaskan volcanic eruption a few months ago. we set a record low last night in the low 40s. i've also decided that the margin necrosis on my one tomato may be due to cold, not a pathogen.
Yields like that make you wonder how New Jersey became the "Garden State."
